We care about putting the correct genetics back on your site. Great Bear Restoration maintains an extensive seed bank from the western United States with sources identified by county and elevation. All seed is inventoried, identified by source, and maintained in refrigerated storage to ensure seed viability and high germination rates.

At Great Bear Restoration, we inoculate most of our plants with mycorrhizal fungi as a standard practice. Why inoculate with mycorrhizal fungi? Most terrestrial plant species have mycorrhizal fungus growing on their roots that spread throughout the soil and provide the plants with nutrients, water, and disease resistance. Installing inoculated plants results in greater survival and growth. This translates into a lower cost per surviving seedling for your project.

The Leftovers…

Although we are a contract grow nursery, we overgrow on our contracts to ensure that we meet our orders. This results in excess plant material that we sell on a speculative basis. Visit our Current Plant Availability page to see what we currently have available for immediate sale. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, e-mail us and we’ll see if we can help.
